Competitor spotlight – Brandon Marcoux
Watch out all you 15-17 year old grapplers out there. We have a club champion refining his game and tearing up the competition. Brandon has been my student sine Jan this year and is a great guy to have as a student. Quiet, unassuming, and hugely talented is the best way to describe him. He rarely misses a class and all his training is paying off. He competed a few months ago at NAGA and took home a 1st place NO-Gi and a 3rd in Gi for his age/belt. Then this month he followed up on it w/ a repeat performance at Grapplers Quest doing earning 1st place in NO-Gi and 3rd in Gi.
Thanks to Brandon’s dad, Chris (who also trains BJJ at our club) for bringing Brandon to all the classes and supporting his training and competing. I am very proud of both Marcoux’s and look to the future to watch them grow as BJJ players. We will try to get competition footage online so you can watch Brandon winning. But as usually we may run into a few technical difficulties…so check back under the Video section.
Where do we train? Central Connecticut’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy affiliated with RJC Machado at 160 Oak Street, Unit 210, Glastonbury, CT 06033. Call or email any questions and then get your butt down to watch a class. Then you’ll know if BJJ is for you and we welcome you onto the mats. See you soon. – Jeff 860.633.1466 We are easy to get to from Hartford or Manchester and surrounding towns. Right off rte 2. Train safe!
