Dave makes blue belt!

Congrats to Dave on making blue belt.  I promoted him to blue belt last Saturday.  For those us who know Dave we know he is one of the most competitive guys at our academy.  He is like 225  lbs of solid muscle, an ex-wrestler, and a really good athlete.  So he is the type of student who shows up day 1 and is already a good training partner.  But at Giroux BJJ my goal is to develop all students into well rounded BJJ players.  Dave put in his time over the last year and half drilling white to blue belt moves, self defense, and free sparring.  On the day of his promotion I had him demonstrate escaping techniques from all positions for over an hour.  He stayed on the mat while us fresh guys rotated out.  It was a great workout and Dave showed he can think under pressure and fatigue.  Nice Job!
